The Market at Commonplace served as Midtown’s first urban grocery store, offering a selection of wine, cheese, fresh produce, locally grown flowers, deli meats, fresh-baked bread, handmade pasta, and more. The concept for the store was born out of a love of hospitality and neighborhood service, first sparked from the flagship bookstore on the same block, and then by a restaurant turned coffee shop, The Kitchen at Commonplace.
The continuity of the brand design is carried into the Market with the inclusion of signature mint green accents, light wood fixtures, custom furniture, and ample east light flooding the retail space. An open space plan was programmed to encourage interaction from the moment of entry, while open shelves and custom CNC patterns draw patrons in and encourage lingering over the local sundries and wine selection.
