Southwest Covenant tasked Gardner with providing a design solution for a new elementary school and the 260+ families it serves, in addition to administrative offices for the headmaster and support staff.
The school’s conservative budget resulted in the use of a pre-engineered metal building with added light scoops for natural light along the spine of the structure. The building accommodates robust programming including safe rooms, art and music facilities, media and library spaces, along with other multipurpose spaces. This particular exercise paired cost-conscious construction and economic sustainability with architectural decisions that express the very real value of the children at Southwest Covenant and the importance of their education.
