Elemental at OU Health

A beloved coffee shop expands to a second location while exploring the material language of its brand.

An Oklahoma City trailblazer, Elemental Coffee Roasters approached Gardner as the opportunity arose to expand to their second location at OU Health. The setting, quite the opposite from their original standalone flagship, required a unique exploration of materials and how the brand could translate in a much more corporate setting.

The collaborative brief demanded a commitment to a simple material palette while raising the execution bar to occupy a prominent corner in a high-end medical complex lobby. Gardner utilized the space’s existing, fairly mundane backdrop and turned it into a visual moment, drawing customers in through texture and context. Minimal to no branding is required to find and enjoy the serene space.

Simple materials and an expansive countertop were utilized to highlight the barista and coffee-making process while providing a moment of respite in an otherwise busy environment.
