Capucille Barn

A space for entertaining guests and a community.

The Capucille family approached Gardner with the goal of extending their home into a space that invites guests and the community to gather, exercise, and grow together. The barn is a three-story structure created to house a gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, alongside a range of comforting lounge spaces. The basement was designed for flexibility, incorporating an appointed wine cellar as well as additional room for guest living quarters. On the main level, the gymnasium spans the breadth of the property and boasts a large barn door that opens to the outside. The gym also includes a garage door that leads into a lounge area, equipped with a fully operational wet bar that can be hidden behind custom millwork doors. The upper level consists of a loft-style office with additional space for maximum comfort.

The result is a space designed and equipped for enjoyment and activity among the community.
